Following on from the successful 2022 ‘Fantasy to Fabrication’, The Port Creative was once again asked to design the annual Mount Stuart exhibition located in the magnificent Neo-Gothic mansion on the Isle of Bute. This exhibition explored the art and history of the multi-modal medium that is the comic book. Scotland is the cradle of comics: the form originated in Glasgow, and many of the mavericks responsible for some of the most ground breaking comic works come from Scotland. This was an exciting opportunity to display unexpected items from the Bute Collection showing the contribution of authors and artists from the Enlightenment to present day in the newly developed Armoury exhibition space. Due to its popularity, the exhibition was extended for another year.
