Working closely with exhibition designers Cubit 3D and with Graceland in Memphis, The Port Creative designed all the graphic panels for this major exhibition, firstly in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, then transferring to the newly opened Arches venue in London Bridge. Using artifacts, images & movies previously unseen outside the US, the exhibition chronicles the rise of the rock ‘n’ roll icon and celebrates how Elvis impacted popular culture around the world through his music, movies and personal style. From his humble beginnings to his meteoric rise to fame, the exhibition explores the Elvis mania that first swept America and then the world. The exhibition was constructed in Edinburgh using sustainable, reusable timber partition walls with printed, stretched fabric panels attached. The complete exhibition was shipped to Riyadh and installed over a demanding 8-week programme. When finished, shipped back to the UK and, together with some adjustments, reinstalled within the Arches exhibition space. The exhibition has been both a critical and financial success over its lifetime in various venues, attracting over 500,000 visitors and raising nearly £6M in revenue.
